PROGRESS PICTURES

We have stone and a level yard - I'm not sure how I feel about the stone color - it seemed "greyer" in the boxes prior to being installed.  But I will hold off judgement until I see it in person - with the shutters and accessories completed.

Almost done in here...

YEAH for Appliances!!

The Stone Fireplace looks OUTSTANDING - and well color coordinated with the granite,
if I do say so myself.

All Tile work in the bathrooms done - Level B almond in the hall bath.

Carpet - Check
Master bedroom complete - Check

Shower door and faucets/fixtures installed - Check.

Basement Bath - Level A tile almond.

Basement complete - Check, carpet here is a little darker then the 2nd deck.
Thanks to Collin (with Phil's suggestion) who provided some updated photos to attempt to save the Sutton family some gas this week!  The pictures look great - and Collin I decided to not post the great mirror shot of you and the Master bath sinks.  But it is a sharp picture!

So we appreciate the pictures and the attempt to keep us away however,  we are headed to Fort Belvior to check out the furniture shop (if they even have one) - and going to Willow Landing Marina to sign the contract paperwork for a boat slip - (Insert big smile here since our boat "Fouled Anchors" has a new home right away too! - the HOA and the construction zone would not be conducive to boat storage in the driveway) - therefore it only makes since to go to the house and measure out for our future Fence.  Note regarding HOA here too - they get up to 45 days to process structure requests.  I'm really hoping they do not take that long for a simple fence install!  We are getting started now on the paperwork to get the fence done ASAP.

With all that being said I am going to attempt to make tomorrows visit our last until the Settlement walk through on August 21st.

THE EXCITEMENT CONTINUES....

No changes to the outside...but our neighbor in Lot 3's stone was being installed - on Sunday!

Granite was installed and looked Beautiful!
Basement Bath and all Tile work complete!
Granite - Double Oven Cabinet - WOOD FLOORS!!!

Master Bath Tile work - If you don't get the "seat" upgrade you have a wall vice glass door between the tub and shower.  - Food for thought.

The Gunstock Wood Floor with the Cognac Cabinets.

So do you think "Lady bugs" are Good Luck?  I do and we had 3 hanging out on our basement ceiling :)

So we went on Sunday - Kids in tow - to see what if anything was done this week.  We found our wood floors - bathroom tile - and laundry room floors complete.  Our garage door opener was installed - and worked nicely and quietly. The only down side....The Stone work was being done up the street and looked wonderful - Lot 3 you will LOVE it!!  So I was a bit bummed to not see ours up yet.  My son thoughtfully said as we drove down the street.  They are working on Sunday?  This is the day for rest?!  Apparently not for the RH Stone contractors.  We have found one downside to visiting every weekend (besides the cost of gas and about a 4 hour round trip drive) - the walls were fresh and painted looking great last weekend and yesterday, well they were scuffed, dirty and what looked like "written" on.  I am not fretting about it because - they have to have it perfect for the settlement walk thru - so they have until the 21st to get is squared away.  I did take pictures of some of the "damages" to the cabinets/drywall just so that I can remember and verify it was rectified before the 21st.  We don't want any reason to delay our move!  On that note we ensured that all paperwork for closing was quickly turned in.  Now we wait - and I excitedly envision what I want to buy for the house - while Rob excitedly hopes I buy less!

30 JUL - HOW FAST IS THE WORK GOING!!

We had to travel down to Stafford to get the school registration forms - and it just made sense to go visit the house....

But what could have been done in 1 working day?

The DRIVEWAY! Including the walkway and our steps to the front door.

Master Bath Shower - TILED!

Here is a shot of the sink/cabinets without the plastic wrap - you can see the crewman working diligently on tiling the bathroom - they were actually working in all the baths.

We have LIGHTS! Recessed and under cabinets.  All lights and light fixtures throughout were in and working while we walked through.  The Electricians and Guardian were bustling about the house.

The teams are kicking butt in our home - and we are very happy.  Our PM had prepared me for the tile work being done so that was not a surprise - but the driveway?  That was a big surprise we had just trampled through the mud on Saturday - come Tuesday the driveway was done AND able to be walked on.

2 Hour Drive for a Saturday Visit - Jul27th

Blue shutters look OUTSTANDING!

Sweet surprise on this trip ...cabinets were installed!

Partial Kitchen Cabs - the Cognac ones..

Up next?  Stone!

Picture of the crown molding - painting in progress..
The Rain Storm we got stuck in...not our car pictured...
ours was about a 1/4 mile away in front of the model home.

Well Rob and I traveled in the heavy 95S traffic to visit our home - it took 2 hours!  But we had some great surprises that made it well worth the trip.  First a crew was working on painting and not the walls. The walls were completed they were working on the trim - the chair rail, the baseboards, the crown molding and the window/door sills.  So we entered the house via the basement and when walking into the full basement bath - there was the cabinet and counter.  So I quickly moved up to the kitchen and in deed we had  90% of those cabinets in.  As I can tell only the cabinet that surrounds the wall oven and over the refrigerator have yet to be installed.  (No granite yet) So the house with walls and paint looked great.  We figure each week will bring great progress.  Our PMs and the crews are doing a wonderful job.

So for the last picture...when we first got there we decided to walk to our house from the model (we had been sitting for 2 hours) then when walking around the back yard checking how big we want our fence we saw some rain clouds so we went into the house.  About 15 minutes later is starts to rain - slightly...30 minutes down pouring with no break in the clouds.  And 15 minutes from then my HERO - Rob ran to the car and drove to pick me up.  We did sink about 3-5 inches in the soft mud but luckily the "river" running down the street allowed me to clean my shoes before getting into the car. :)

Weekend Visit Jul 21

Side View - Gray never looked so good!
Well we took a drive from MD to Stafford VA to see the progress and show some extended family.  We forgot the camera but I manage to take this photo from my phone.  We knew the walls were supposed to be completed - but the Siding was a pleasant surprise.

PRE-DRYWALL MEETING - CHECK!

The Pre-Drywall meeting was exciting and educational.  Phil met us today and took us (kids NOT in tow) throughout the home - Rob taking notes and myself taking photos.  And I admit - I took ALOT of photos!  What we liked best?  For me I enjoyed standing at the front door looking down the hall to the morning room windows - I could almost see how wonderful this home is going to be.  My 2nd fav - no not my exciting kitchen with the double wall oven...(I think that will top my list in the pre-settlement meeting.)  It was the unfinished basement spaces.  We have a finished basement and I had "daydreamed" that Rob could finish the unfinished space to make a bedroom or exercise room --- I love you Rob but I am unsure of your ability to run electrical or HVAC to those spaces - and to my pleasant surprise - Rob will not have to! In the spaces: light - check, outlet - check, HVAC - check!!  That means framing, drywall, floor and paint and it is finished.

Now for Robs favorite item today - the back yard.  He was having difficulty imagining the size of the yard - but today he stood in his back yard and was smiling - it could have been the stubbed gas line for his BBQ!

So as for dates - Our Pre-settlement meeting is scheduled for 1000, 21 August 2013 with our Settlement scheduled at 1300, 23 August 2013. So my guesstimate was 3 days off  - not too bad.

SUTTON'S ARRIVE WARBLER CT

It was a long 3 nights 4 day drive across the country - but we made it to Warbler Court and the construction site of our Rome on July 8th.  We could not help but drive by when we were headed up the 95.  Thank you Collin who willingly took our family through the new house.  The kids really enjoyed it and Cassie was already planning her room layout!
